BEACH ADVENTURES

An awesome beach that takes a little over an hour to get to on challenging roads at the end, but it's worth it! Enjoy this pristine beach and wonderful surfing, boogey boarding, body surfing waves. The little restaurant/bar on the beach called Café Lola offers outstanding light meals and tropical beverages. A perfect day's adventure.

Just five additional minutes down the road from Playa Avalennes, another incredibly pristine swimming/surfing beach with incomparable beauty with local cuisine/beverages as well. Particularly unique for its volcanic outcroppings. Very reminiscent of Hawaii! A perfect day's adventure. |

A little under an hour from the VILLA, this beach is of Endless Summer fame! Like Avalennes and Negra, another great swimming/surfing beach just steps away from the beach tourist town of Tamarindo, which itself offers streets full of restaurants and local shops. A perfect day's adventure! |

| Playa Grande |

This beach is just north of Tamarindo and located within a National Park. More remote, it offers a great sands, swimming/surfing waves, relaxation and local restaurant as well. This beach is particularly great for long nature walks amongst an exciting variety of sea and land birds, crabs and other mollusks. Another wonderful day's adventure. |

| Playa Pez Bella and Playa Ocotal |

Just a very short drive down the hill from the VILLA ESTRELLA, is our delightfully wonderful local beach Pez Bella. Enjoy the very soothing ambience and warm waters of this little black sand volcanic beach nestled between the surrounding hill tops. Have fun snorkeling along the beach shore…plenty of tropical fish to delight the eyes. Quench your thirst with tropical libations just up from  the beach at the Picante Restaurant. You can spend a quiet afternoon here...or just go down for a quick 15 minute sunset dip.
It’s a bit of paradise…
Just around the corner from Playa Bez Bella is Playa Ocotal. A more expansive volcanic beach and the take off and return point for all the boating activity. Enjoy the excellent local cuisine and libations at Father Rooster’s Bar and Grill right on the beach.

This is one of the world's most famous surfing spots (“Endless Summer”), also known as Witch's Rock. A very unique half day/day adventure for the pure surfing guests. Take a small speed boat on calm waters up the breathtaking Gulf of Papagayo and you'll get to Witch's Rock and surf near-perfect tubular waves. |

GULF OF PAPAGAYO ADVENTURES
The Gulf of Papagayo is one of the most beautiful bodies of water in the world offering a variety of water adventures.

Charter a sport fishing boats will take you on half-day or full day fishing trip based on what you want to accomplish. Catch sailfish, marlin, roosterfish, or more than 25 other varieties of sport fish. Captain, food, bait, tackle, and nourishments are all included. |

 Enjoy a late afternoon/early evening power boat cruise along the gorgeous Gulf of Papagayo shoreline. Lounge on one of the many secluded beaches and enjoy cocktails and hors d'oevres as you watch the brilliant sunset over the water with nature's soothing sounds in the background. |

 Choose from one of several wonderful Adventure Centers located one and half hours from the Villa. The Adventure Centers are situated on the sides of nearby volcanoes and each offers a unique day of beauty and excitement. Experience the thrill of zip-lining through the jungle canopy.  Laugh all the way down a long, fun-filled mountain water slide. Ride friendly horses into the volcanic forests. Walk amongst the steaming superheated volcanic rock. Immerse yourself in a rich therapeutic volcanic mud bath and cleanse yourself in the natural saunas and hot springs. Walk in the spray and pools of majestic volcanic water falls. Delight in the beauty of nature all around you.

| White Water River Rafting or Tubing |

On a separate day, enjoy the thrills and spills of white water river rafting in the gradually cascading jungle waters flowing down the side of a nearby volcano. You'll be in the hands of an expert rafting company and oarsmen who guide you down the  bubbling river and through the white water rapids...3-4 per raft. Saftey helmets and life jackets are worn at all times. At the end of the three hour excursion, they'll present you with an entire CD of pictures that capture the entire three hour event. You'll be laughing all the way! Or alternatively, experience the fun of inner tubing down other portions of volcanic streams.

Palo Verde National Park |

 Another wonderful day’s adventure is to visit Palo Verde National Park. This Park is extensive in terms of acreage and is one of the most ecologically diverse areas of Costa Rica with 15 distinct habitats. The guided trip to the Park from the Villa is a pleasant 1 hour and 15 minute ride to the Tempisque River at the edge of the Park.  The river is a tidal river, with brackish water and a 6-8 foot tide. You’ll be expertly guided up and down the river for two and a half hours on a canopy covered motor boat and you’ll see an incredible variety of vegetation, birds, iguanas, monkeys, and, of course, crocodiles. Your camera will be clicking non-stop to capture wild-life like you’ve never seen before.
